Soleil's Rainbow

Soleil, one of my oldest characters, skipping happily along (or maybe just posing) in front of a painted rainbow backdrop. Her pose here was originally a small warm-up doodle that I touched up and repurposed.

This was also an experiment with painting a background, as opposed to drawing it in the same style as the rest of the piece. It makes good practice and adds a period-accurate flair (matte paintings were used for many film backdrops).
