Tarot: The Fool

In the practice of fortune-telling using tarot cards, the Fool symbolizes new beginnings, risk-taking, and infinite potential - or recklessness, distraction, and poor judgment if reversed. As a character, the Fool is often also interpreted as the protagonist of a story told through the 22 Major Arcana, the "Fool's Journey". Our protagonist, Fritz, strays from his path to look towards new horizons. Will the journey he embarks upon be one of newfound freedom, or unexpected dangers?
I used a similar style to the rest of my work for this piece, but it was also a site of experimentation. While I used a wide array of different textures and patterns, I imposed a challenge upon myself by keeping to three different "ink" colors (yellow, sky blue, and deep indigo). This piece also uses far fewer outlines than usual; I only used them to differentiate shapes and create texture as needed.
